Ski Season in Wausau
Wausau is by far Wisconsin’s best place to play in the snow. Granite Peak, which opened for the 2016-17 ski season on Thanksgiving weekend, is a popular place for skiers and snowboarders alike. It is quickly becoming recognized as the premiere skiing destination in all of Wisconsin. In fact, recent improvements have brought extensive terrain updates and long runs, both hallmarks of famous ski resorts out west, home to Wisconsin. At Granite Peak, you’ll find the highest vertical drop in Wisconsin and along the Upper Peninsula, and a ski season that generally lasts from early winter well into spring. Some of our favorite features of Granite Peak include:
- A 6-passenger high-speed lift, 2 high speed quad chairs, 2 other chairs, and 2 conveyor lifts all designed to get you skiing faster.
- 75 runs in total, split evenly between a variety of levels.
- 4 different terrain parks
- Lessons and Rentals are available
