Granite Peak Ski Area Tickets On Sale Now!

While Mother Nature continues her epic display of fall colors here in Wausau, we’re choosing to look (and plan) ahead!  Granite Peak Ski Area is a pretty great place to spend a day or two in Wausau, and we’re ready for the 2021-2022 ski season ahead. Given the relatively flat nature of the Midwest, we’re fortunate to have such a great ski destination right here in town.

There are 75 unique ski runs at Granite Peak Ski  Area, 4 well-developed terrain parks, and a total 700-foot vertical drop.  To get you to the top of the mountain, you’ll ride the state’s only high-speed six-pack and two high-speed quads. With fewer lines than bigger resorts out west, you can spend much more of your time actually skiing or snowboarding than standing in lines, too.  Granite Peak Ski Area is also open for night skiing throughout the season, which we can’t recommend highly enough.

The tentative opening date for the 2021-2022 ski season at Granite Peak Ski Area is November 22, 2021. Season passes are on sale now, and prices will be going up on October 1.  You still have plenty of time left to snag those tickets at the lowest price of the season! The pass is also valid for skiing at Minnesota’s incredible Lutsen Mountain, home to 1,000 skiable acres and the Midwest’s only gondola! Granite Peak Ski Area also provides a guaranteed 6 months of winter fun, thanks to their incredible snowmaking operation.

If you can’t commit to a whole skiing season, there are still plenty of ways to stay and have some wintry fun. Not only will you enjoy fewer crowds and lines on the ski runs themselves, but there are often incredible midweek savings on ski tickets and lodging! For the best deals, consider visiting us during the middle of the week.
