The Big Eau Pleine County Park, at just over 2,500 acres, is the largest park in the county.  It is situated along the beautiful and protected shores of the 7000 acre Big Eau Pleine Reservoir.  In total, there are 12 miles of dedicated and maintained trails throughout the forest-like park, which are suitable for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and during the winter fat-tire biking and cross-country skiing.  Big Eau Pleine Park offers some of the best single track mountain biking trails in the Wausau area. Roots, rocks, hilly terrain, and even the occasional muddy trail are common place. The most popular trails are starting at the Outhouse and riding to the technical Rock Gardens, or Big Eau Pleine County Park in Wausau, Wisconsinstarting on horsetrail and heading to popcorn loop.
