It may still officially be fall, but winter is definitely on its way to Wisconsin! Thanksgiving is just over a week away, so it’s time to start gearing up and planning for the upcoming holiday season. The holidays are truly one of our favorite times of year, as Christmas in Wausau is nothing short of magical. It is an experience that really must be enjoyed at least once in your lifetime. Once you have seen it, however, you will want to keep coming back to this charming town in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. We encourage you to plan well ahead, and to book a room at the elegant Stewart Inn Boutique Hotel, where you can celebrate the holidays in style.
Decorating for the Season at the Stewart Inn
This year will mark our first holiday season at Stewart Inn. We’re really looking forward to decorating the Inn for the holidays, and celebrating with our friends and family in the Wausau area. We’re already busy making plans for how to decorate the Inn, and plan to have it completed by December 2nd, 2017. This year, our theme will be White and Greenery. Think a classically decorated Christmas home; designed to reflect the simplicity and grace of George Maher’s architectural style. There’s sure to be a white Christmas outside our door. Inside, you’ll find beautiful white poinsettias, and couple of tastefully decorated Christmas trees, and beautiful greenery draped artfully around the Inn.
Stay tuned for updated pictures as we decorate the Stewart Inn for the holidays, and come see it in person anytime throughout the month of December!
Spend the Holidays in Wausau
With the holiday season just around the corner, it’s time to start planning for upcoming events and festivities in Wausau. The first of many events is Wausau’s annual Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees, held at Stony Creek Hotel and Conference Center, opens on November 21, 2017, and runs through November 26th. This year marks its 21st season, and marks the beginning of the holiday season in Wausau. The glittering forest of trees features over one hundred holiday trees, wreaths, mantels, and specialty items, each thoughtfully decorated by people in our community. All proceeds from this holiday event benefit the Aspirus community hospice program.
Other wonderful holiday events in Wausau include:
- All is Calm, an incredible holiday story, will be performed at the Grand Theatre on November 21, 2017.
- Support Wausau’s independent small businesses on Small Business Saturday on November 25, 2017, and get a start on your holiday shopping.
- Wausau Holiday Parade on December 1, 2017, which starts at Marathon Park and ends in Downtown Wausau’s popular 400 block.
