Plan Ahead for the 2017-18 Curling Season in Wausau

We know that fall has only just begun.  We’re still enjoying autumn’s beautiful colors here in Wausau, but now is also a great time to look ahead and to plan for future trips to Wausau.  Winter is a busy Curling in Wausau, Wisconsintime here, with lots of people visiting, whether for business, pleasure, or both.

The Wausau Curling Club is a fantastic venue, and is one of the oldest clubs in the nation.  The club was renovated in 2012, and offers an incredible eight Olympic-size sheets of ice for it’s 500+ members.  The fun kicks off in October, and continues on through March.  The Wausau Curling Club hosts a series of bonspiels throughout the season, in addition to women’s, men’s, open, mixed and seniors league play, and the largest high school programs in the nation. Weekends in January Curling in Wausau, Wisconsinand February are always bust at the club, with a variety of competitive and fun events.  Wausau’s Curling Club is an excellent place for spectators to watch the fun, too. It’s open to the public during league play, from Monday – Friday.

The annual bonspiels include:

  • The USA Wheelchair Bonspiel and High Performance event, on November 2-5, 2017.
  • The fall Supper Club Mixed Bonspiel on November 10-12, 2017.
  • The WSCA State Junior Curling Playdowns, on December 29-31, 2017.
  • The WSCA Wisconsin Women’s Badger Bonspiel, January 26-28, 2018.
  • The Badger State Games, February 2-4, 2018
  • The 2017-18 Wisconsin State High School State Curling Championships, February 19-20, 2018.
  • The USSMCA U.S. Senior Men’s Association National Championships, February 22-25, 2018.
